Rake is the percentage (commission) that the poker room takes out of every pot played for real money. Most online poker rooms charge 5% with a cap. A cap is the maximum the poker room will take from any hand. For example, a 5/10NL (1000NL) game at Full Tilt Poker is raked at 5% with a cap of $3 - so up until $60, the pot is raked at 5% and any amount over $60 is never raked.

The amount of rake paid playing poker often surprises people. If you are new to poker rakeback, take a look at our Rake Table below for estimates on the rake you pay. You can use our Rakeback Calculator for more accurate estimations on the amount of rakeback you can expect to receive.

Although our calculator doesn't include micro-limits, you will receive rakeback on any limit that is raked, all the way down to the lowest raked limits on any site. The amount of rake 5c/10c (10NL) players pay surprises a lot of people, and rakeback could be the difference between beating the game and moving up through the limits or being stuck at the micro/low limits.
